Introduction:

You will be integrated in the System Engineering Department, reporting to Platform Software Manager.

These software development roles are a key element of our client’s plans to develop new platforms around its unique soft modem technology. Successful candidates will be part of building and growing Europe’s most exciting new fabless semiconductor business in cellular wireless.The roles include all aspects of interfacing modem technology to application processors and operating systems as well as working closely with customers on end products.

                                                                                                                                            

Description:

·         Across the team being recruited we will specify, develop and integrate the following, then support and customise them with customers. Specific engineers will clearly be involved in different areas and have customer exposure depending on their profile

·         Telephony under HLOS for modem(s)

·         Audio system integration

·         System integration, including power management

                                                                                                                                            

Skills

·         C programming at an RTOS / device driver level

·         Kernel level / driver and link layer protocol level programming in consumer OS environments (Windows / Windows Mobile, Symbian, Linux)

·         Experience of inter-processor communication, from impact on application media streams to memory system implications and serial interface drivers

·         Experience in telephony integration for cellular devices

·         Experience of audio system design and integration for smartphones (NOT audio DSP)

·         Experience of power management and system integration in cellular devices, preferably smartphones

·         Note that this is NOT an application development role and applicants MUST have low level programming experience or excellent expertise in telephony integration for cellular devices

·         Broad interest and knowledge around core areas of experience

                                                                                                                                            

Degree: Sofwtare Engineering degree or equivalent

Experience: 3 to 15 years, details of role will match seniority
